The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advise against all travel to Mali. Unless you have pressing reasons to remain, you should leave now by commercial means. You should not travel to the north of Mali under any circumstances.

There is a high threat from terrorism. A number of Westerners have been kidnapped by terrorists in Mali and the Sahel region. In light of the ongoing military action against separatist groups, a State of Emergency exists across the whole country. No curfew has been established, but changes could be announced at any time.
