  • The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advise against all travel to the city of Tripoli and to Palestinian refugee camps. The FCO advise against all but essential travel to the Bekaa valley, to within 5km of the Syrian border, to the southern city of Saida, and to areas south of the Litani river.   • There is a high threat from Terrorism. There were violent clashes in October 2012 following the assassination of the chief of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces. There is potential for further violence, which could restrict departure options The ability of the British government to provide assistance with departures may be limited. See Terrorism

  • The security situation can deteriorate quickly. Keep yourself informed of developments and follow local security advice. Roads can become blocked due to protests. See Political situation
